Dancing in the Rain Marci Card

A 2 day workshop hosted by La-la Land Crafts/Irina was held early June.  This annual event has never fell short of expectations. There are 11 extreme projects within the 2 day workshop held at the Beverly Heritage in Milpitas, California.  This was so much fun to attend and experience with old friends and some new ones, too.  Completed projects are not listed in any order – hope you will find them as breath taking and enjoyable as I had making them.  So here goes with the first project:

Original intended image for this card is using the recent release Baby Luka stamp. Changed the image to use the Dancing in the Rain Marci only from Club La-la Land March 2015 Project Kit. This project: a large special shaped card with a lot of interesting embellishments using La-la Land Crafts dies. There are lots of shaped layers. Note there is a doily underneath the popped Stitched Circle die.  Finished card size: 7-1/2” x 7”.
Dies used: (Most are newly released, too)
Open Hearts Doily Border
Heart Fan
Flag banner
Stitched Cloud and Sun
Moon and Stars Banner
Stitched Circles
Hanging Hearts
All these dies can be found here in the La-la Land Crafts shop found here.
Copic colors:
Face: E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: W2, W4, W6, W8
Head band: Y000, Y17, Y24, BG00, B91, B93
Boots: Y000,Y17, YR24
Umbrella, Socks, and Jumper: BG000, BG00, B91, B93, E18, E21, E23
Note the Open Hearts Doily Border is on three sides of the card. To achieve the look: be sure to cut two doilies (that six doilies total for this project) to ensure it is sturdy.  Adhere 2 layers of the Doily  together, then press the Doily onto Versamark Ink, sprinkle some Stampendous Glitter mix – them shoot it with a heat gun.
The banner is cut twice:: offset it to show, then curl it to reveal the underside.
Love the double layer Stitched Clouds (and Sun) die:
Cute bow with a nice blue button and twine tie:
At the bottom of the card: the Moon and Stars Banner is cut apart – aligned at the bottom.  Effect is made the same as the Open Hearts Doily Border.
Note the Heart Fan is cut twice: used on each side of Marci.
Card inside:
Five layers of the special shape with a heart (it’s from the Open Hearts Doily Border).
Card back:  Stitched Circle Die used for the back as a nice finishing touch
Card back a nice finishing touch with the Stitched Circles:
Thank you for stopping by today.  Stay tuned for 10 more projects from this workshop.

Chip & Dale's Turkey Leg Girlfriend Card

This 6" x 6" size easel card is the perfect size for Chip and Dale.  Chip and Dale are a FREE SVG cut file from one of the SVGcutting Best Friends Blog Hops last year.  Card base is Rust from Bazzil, then a Recollections Ivory mat, along with some diagonal stripe pattern paper I found in my stash which worked really well for these images.  Some gold and clear Dew Drops are randomly positioned, then adhered using Ranger's Glossy Accents. EK Success Zig Zag punched strip at the bottom of the card.  "YUMMY" words are made using the Silhouette cutting program with an Rust card stock off set behind. Turkey Leg is a FREE SVG cut file also from SVGcutting Best Friends Blog Hops last year.
Computer generated message revealed on the easel along with a SVG cut Turkey Leg and punched zig zag strip.
So cute:  I think this one is Chip: Shimmer paper used for contrast on the brown card stock. Edges are light sponged using brown ink. The Turkey Leg is inked using Stampin-Up Beyond the Basics (retired) stamp set using brown ink. Use a Black Copic .25 pen for the bone detail.
This one must be Dale: made the same way as Chip but using a light brown card stock for contrast.

Hello Kitty Thank You Card

I was gifted some Hello Kitty fabric recently so wondered how could I make a thank you card. Each fabric had a "scene" that could be used so this is what was made using the fabric. Finished card size is A2.  A Red card stock base with a white mat, then a small pink decorative pattern mat used for the card. Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables die used for the small pink decorative mat.
1-1/2" chipboard squares are used for each "scene".  Since these were fabric, Beacon's Fabric Tac adhesive used to adhere them onto the white card base.
"Thanks" die cut twice, with the white card stock off set.
Side view of card:

Here's how the squares were made: cut the 1-1/2" chipboard square.  Cut the fabric slightly larger.
Add sticky tape around the fabric edges:
Remove sticky tape, clip the corner to avoid the bulkiness of the fabric:
Here's the result:
