Yoshimi Birthday Explosion Box

Wow - what a great surprise in the mail.............OMG - help me off the floor! This surprise came from my blog friend: Gene who lives in Las Vegas.  She is sooooo creative (but she doesn't have a blog.............she's way too busy).  I love this card made using Sister Stamps Yoshimi.  She used beautiful Washi paper in my favorite colors along with some shiny shiny gold paper.  Don't ya just love it and want a closer look?  The box: it's 4" x 4" x 4".
And here is the card:
There is a strip of white Washi underneath the stamped vellum - anchored by tiny flower brads. I see Gene also added some Gold and Silver random dots, too.
Now you can see Yoshimi with her Washi dress and glittered hair bow.  Her fan is also a shiny glittered gold.
Wanna see more? Here's the box top. Gene has the most beautiful handwriting.....she hand scripted the sentiment. I love those flowers and the hand folded Washi Crane sitting on top of the shiny gold mat.
A closer look at that Washi Crane:
Box sides with fabulous Gold/Black mats:
Remove the lid and the sides fall down and you can slightly see the Washi Cake:
Here's a better look at the Washi Cake
Each panel has Washi paper as the mat,  then stamped Asian words on vellum that are embossed in black:
Didn't you just love this? I certainly will treasure this forever!
